Lateral Jet Drilling

KOS Jet Drilling & Recovery ProcessKOS has licensed this Equipment and Technology for Kentucky and works in close partnership with its inventor – a 40 year professor from Kentucky who applied the principles of fluid dynamics and physics to develop a downhole tool and coiled tubing unit that enables the trained operator to create large lateral drainage channels up to several hundred feed directly into oil and gas zones.

These drainage channels are created at various levels and in multiple pay zones that radiate back to the well bore to enhance oil and gas recovery.

The process is similar (but further advanced) to Jet Drilling procedures used in North America and Internationally - procedures that have been used very successfully to produce several fold increases in production. Of particular importance is the fact that this tool, after more than a decade of research and development, was designed with Kentucky oil & gas formations in mind.

Performing a Frac on shallow wells in Kentucky is very cost prohibitive. The great majority of wells in the region have never seen a Frac or procedure that would open up the fractures and improve reservoir recovery.

Thousands of wells across the region are operating on decades old technology. As a result they are only recovering a small percentage of their potential. We believe our Lateral Jet Drilling will be the first true advancement in the state for these shallow lower producing wells – newly drilled and the workover of low producing or abandoned wells.

The process will accelerate production rates and enhance total recoverable reserves – while doing so at a fraction of the cost of comparable stimulation techniques. At the end of this report we have included the background and experience of the inventor and his partner.

The Lateral Jet Drilling can significantly enhance the production area within a given field. The average well is typically limited to drawing production 100 feet from the well bore. However, the Lateral Jet Drilling can extend this area to almost 300 feet, thus increasing the area of production several fold. It also creates a cavern through which the oil & gas will flow effortlessly through the rock.
